Our Service Journey

It is not only floors we can restore in your house. Our dust free sanding machines allow us to work in any room and restore wood with minimal disruption to your household. One of great examples of such work is wooden kitchen worktops restoration. Often overlooked, they can actually wear much quicker than wooden floors and they can be restored in similar manner.

Kitchen Worktops Sanding

Wooden kitchen worktops can be restored using the same principles we follow when sanding wooden floors. Most importantly, all of old finish needs to be removed back to bare wood. As always, careful consideration has to be given to what type and grit of abrasives are to be used. This is determined by wood species and type of finish previously applied.

As always, all our sanders extract dust on the go, so the whole process is very clean. We use variety of power tools and hand tools as well, to access all corners and edges.

Once wood is completely exposed, we can focus on perfecting the surface and remove all marks, scuffs and make it perfectly smooth. After that, the worktops are ready for finishing.

Kitchen Worktops Staining

Just like wooden floors, wooden kitchen worktops have the potential to undergo a transformative change through staining.
When designing your new interior, the possibilities for wood colour are no longer limited. While wood species typically dictate the natural colour, we can utilise wood stain to achieve any desired wood-like colour while preserving the inherent characteristics of the wood. This means that even after staining, the distinctive wood grain, including growth rings and knots, will remain visible regardless of the chosen colour.

Staining kitchen worktops proves to be an ideal solution when you prefer not to replace the existing surfaces but want them to harmonise better with the rest of your interior. It is also beneficial when you have newer floors in your property and wish to match the original worktops to them. Overall, restoring kitchen worktops is a wonderful way to modernise your property while preserving these essential, original features that contribute to the real value and quality of your home.

Kitchen Worktops Oiling

Kitchen worktop restoration work would not be complete without applying protective sealant. Whatever is done on the worktops, it needs to be protected to last for decades to come.

Finish suitable for kitchen worktops is hard wax oil. It is a special blend of natural oils and waxes specially formulated to create a very durable finish that still retains traditional natural look. There is a lot of misinformation out there about oil related finishes. Some people recommend using waxes or tung oil, but these products are designed to be applied on furniture and decorative wood. Only hard wax oil is formulated to withstand heavy kitchen use, and if applied correctly, can provide beautiful results.
